Come On Soul!

ADA JAMES starts djing during the mid 90s.

At that time she does „independent“ guitar pop and guitar rock. Around the same time she visits her first SOUL ALLNIGHTER. After that she can’t lose her hold to „the best music in world“. In 2000 she moves to Hamburg, where a versatile and coloured soul scene steps on the dancefloor more than once a month. From 2003 on ADA JAMES plays mainly 60s and 70s R’n’B and Soul.

She’s resident DJ on the marvellous Elbe-barge „Frau Hedi“ (Ada’s Loveshake) and at the Komet in Hamburg St. Pauli (Mrs. HaleBobs) and appears as guest at Hamburg Soul Clubs (e.g. For Dancers Only). Her musical range starts with 50s R’n’B and gets on to 60s & 70s soul, boogaloo, disco and modern soul. As labelmanager of Légère Recordings she takes for example care of the french 60ies-Elektro-Super-Soul band BIKINI MACHINE. With her own company loveshake music ADA JAMES promotes and manages licensing rights of mainly soul & funk artists.

BASIL HUNT starts playing vinyl records at public spaces end of the 80s.

Known under the alias MELLOW he djs first independent british guitar music and Acid Jazz. Next to it he is band booker all around Europe and builds with associate Pete Rivera 1996 the label Lounge Records. BASIL HUNT lives in Hamburg since 1983, busy organizing concerts, events and clubs. He takes care of the compilation series „Music For Modern Living“ and is with that series on tour in Germany for ten years now. Venues as the Hamburg Tempelhof, the Lounge ort he Berlin Privatclub booked MELLOW as resident for years. With „Come onSoul“ BASIL HUNT now walks his way back from Breaks & Beats to Funk & Soul.
